I remember when I was a kid and I thought the Wii U was the most powerful and graphics couldn't get any better... Then came the Switch with SM Odyssey, MK8DX and Luigi's Mansion 3! To me the Wii U looked like the PS5 now, I thought it looked almost as good as real life 😂😂 (keep in mind that I had the Wii back then (and still today)). Looking back, while certainly it doesn't look like real life at all, it still looks good tho. Super Mario 3D World, MK8, Paper Mario Color Splash, even tho they (obviously) look better on Switch (TOK instead of CS on the Switch), they're still pretty good on Wii U. *Fun fact: back then I didn't know that pre-rendered graphics were a thing, so I used to think the objects in the thing cards were rendered IRL time by the Wii U😂😂

I use this same computer with windows 7 in 2024 and it’s kinda slow but decent for web browsing and basic use . Kinda shocking really.

that's my current pc, and still going strong, I am use it for 3d modeling, render, sculpting, and so on, some gaming in 1080p, and emulating ps1,2,3, and Xbox no issues at all, even for AI with fooocus and stable diffusion, of course is not buttery smooth but damn it hasn't got me down yet, still going strong haven't got the need to upgrade, maybe 1 or 2 years still can squeeze on this rig. I also upgraded to 32gb and some ssd hard drives.

worth noting doom 2016 on console used dynamic resolution that scales between 810p and 1080p depending on workload. it would struggle just as much as the 7770 if it had to keep a consistent 1080p

I have a Dell Optiplex 3070 with a Intel i5 9th Gen CPU, with Intel UHD 630 GPU, 16GB RAM and a M.2 Kingston SSD. It can run Minecraft and GTA V nicely. For me good enough.

I had a GTX 680 for 10 whole years, the VRAM was the only thing that was holding it back. And Nvidia's big gay power management also. Go team AMD.

I had 2 GTX 650 Ti Boost cards that I ran in SLI. Nvidia's best budget performers at the time. They were basically downclocked GTX 660's, and combined they could easily out-pace a 680, or even the mighty Radeon HD 7970 (Asus Matrix Platinum version). Best budget purchase I ever did, as the combined cost of 2x 650 Ti Boost was comparable to 60% the price of a GTX 680. This setup, combined with an i7 4790K CPU served me well for a couple years, before I eventually swapped them with a 980 Ti. - Both cards still live on to this day. One in my mom's Dell, and the other was sent overseas to a good friend of mine. Nvidia did never feature SLI connectors on the x50 series again after the Kepler generation. I guess they learned their lesson with the 650 Ti Boost being too good value.
